  9. Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there? Why then is there no recovery For the health of the daughter of my people?
  10. Disobedience Brings God’s Judgment

    Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!
  11. Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, I will refine them and try them; For how shall I deal with the daughter of My people?

  15. Even the jackals present their breasts To nurse their young; But the daughter of my people is cruel, Like ostriches in the wilderness.
  16. The punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people Is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, Which was overthrown in a moment, With no hand to help her!
  17. The hands of the compassionate women Have cooked their own children; They became food for them In the destruction of the daughter of my people.
