  1. Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the Lord had given him as commandments to them,
  2. You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

  9. that you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.
  10. You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you.
  11. Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He has commanded us.’
  12. “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;
  13. And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
  14. “Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.
  15. “Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,
  16. And He wrote on the tablets according to the first writing, the Ten Commandments, which the Lord had spoken to you in the mountain from the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly; and the Lord gave them to me.
  17. and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?
  18. Love and Obedience Rewarded

    “Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always.
  19. ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
  20. “For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do—to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—
  21. the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today;
  22. and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.
  23. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.
  24. because you have listened to the voice of the Lord your God, to keep all His commandments which I command you today, to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord your God.
  25. only if you carefully obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe with care all these commandments which I command you today.
