  1. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

    “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
  19. Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?
  20. they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
  21. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
  22. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
  23. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

  25. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
