  1. besides the Sabbaths of the Lord, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings which you give to the Lord.
  2. ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the Lord for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest.
  3. Every Sabbath he shall set it in order before the Lord continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.
  4. The Sabbath of the Seventh Year

    And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying,
  5. “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord.
  6. but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard.
  7. And the sabbath produce of the land shall be food for you: for you, your male and female servants, your hired man, and the stranger who dwells with you,
  8. The Year of Jubilee

    ‘And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years.
  9. You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the Lord.
  10. Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land; then the land shall rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
  11. As long as it lies desolate it shall rest— for the time it did not rest on your sabbaths when you dwelt in it.
  12. The land also shall be left empty by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; they will accept their guilt, because they despised My judgments and because their soul abhorred My statutes.
  13. Penalty for Violating the Sabbath

    Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.
  14. Sabbath Offerings

    ‘And on the Sabbath day two lambs in their first year, without blemish, and two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour as a grain offering, mixed with oil, with its drink offering—
  15. this is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, besides the regular burnt offering with its drink offering.
  16. ‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you.
  17. but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
  18. And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
  19. So he said, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.” And she said, “It is well.”
  20. Then he commanded them, saying, “This is what you shall do: One-third of you who come on duty on the Sabbath shall be keeping watch over the king’s house,
  21. The two contingents of you who go off duty on the Sabbath shall keep the watch of the house of the Lord for the king.
  22. So the captains of the hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. Each of them took his men who were to be on duty on the Sabbath, with those who were going off duty on the Sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.
  23. Also he removed the Sabbath pavilion which they had built in the temple, and he removed the king’s outer entrance from the house of the Lord, on account of the king of Assyria.
  24. And some of their brethren of the sons of the Kohathites were in charge of preparing the showbread for every Sabbath.
  25. and at every presentation of a burnt offering to the Lord on the Sabbaths and on the New Moons and on the set feasts, by number according to the ordinance governing them, regularly before the Lord;
