    Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,
  3. who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men,

  5. Prayer for the Church

    Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.
  6. so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
  7. Plea for Purity

    Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;
  8. for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
  9. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
  10. Blessing and Admonition

    Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  11. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
