A church divided over leaders
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
-
What I mean is this: one of you says, ‘I follow Paul’; another, ‘I follow Apollos’; another, ‘I follow Cephas’; still another, ‘I follow Christ.’
-
For when one says, ‘I follow Paul,’ and another, ‘I follow Apollos,’ are you not mere human beings?
-
But instead, one brother takes another to court – and this in front of unbelievers!
-
I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.
-
for when you are eating, some of you go ahead with your own private suppers. As a result, one person remains hungry and another gets drunk.
-
To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
-
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
-
Not all flesh is the same: people have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another.
-
There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendour of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendour of the earthly bodies is another.
-
The sun has one kind of splendour, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendour.
-
All the brothers and sisters here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
