  2. Thanksgiving

    I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

  5. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?
  6. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

  8. The Church and Its Leaders

    Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ.
  9. We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!
  10. Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

  12. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
  13. For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave.
  14. When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
  15. Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?
  16. Unity and Diversity in the Body

    Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
  17. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.
  18. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
  19. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.
  20. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
  21. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
  22. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
  23. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
  24. For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.
  25. I face death every day—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.
