    This is what the Lord my God says: “Shepherd the flock marked for slaughter.
  10. So I shepherded the flock marked for slaughter, particularly the oppressed of the flock. Then I took two staffs and called one Favor and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock.
  11. “To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

  16. Warning Against the Teachers of the Law

    As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces,
  17. They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: “‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.’
  18. “Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and respectful greetings in the marketplaces.
  19. “Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.
  20. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”
  21. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
  22. When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying.
  23. Barnabas and Saul Sent Off

    When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission, they returned from Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark.
