    The Sons of Israel

  10. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a varicolored tunic.
  11. Israel said to Joseph, “Are not your brothers pasturing the flock in Shechem? Come, and I will send you to them.” And he said to him, “I will go.”
  12. So the sons of Israel came to buy grain among those who were coming, for the famine was in the land of Canaan also.
  13. Then Israel said, “Why did you treat me so badly by telling the man whether you still had another brother?”
  14. Judah said to his father Israel, “Send the lad with me and we will arise and go, that we may live and not die, we as well as you and our little ones.
  15. Then their father Israel said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: take some of the best products of the land in your bags, and carry down to the man as a present, a little balm and a little honey, aromatic gum and myrrh, pistachio nuts and almonds.
  16. Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them wagons according to the command of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for the journey.
  17. Then Israel said, “It is enough; my son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
  18. Jacob Moves to Egypt

    So Israel set out with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
  19. God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here I am.”
  20. Then Jacob arose from Beersheba; and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob and their little ones and their wives in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
  21. Those Who Came to Egypt

    Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, Jacob and his sons, who went to Egypt: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
  22. Joseph prepared his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel; as soon as he appeared before him, he fell on his neck and wept on his neck a long time.
