  1. When the layer of dew evaporated, behold, on the surface of the wilderness there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the frost on the ground.

    Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
  17. And they celebrated the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, in the wilderness of Sinai; in accordance with everything that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the sons of Israel did.
  18. and the sons of Israel set out on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai. Then the cloud settled in the wilderness of Paran.
  19. Then he said, “Please do not leave us, since you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will be as eyes for us.
  20. Afterward, however, the people moved on from Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
  21. So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran at the command of the Lord, all of them men who were heads of the sons of Israel.
  22. So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, at Lebo-hamath.
  23. they went on and came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, in the wilderness of Paran at Kadesh; and they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.
  24. And all the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the entire congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or even if we had died in this wilderness!
  25. ‘Since the Lord could not bring this people into the land which He promised them by oath, He slaughtered them in the wilderness.’
