She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?”

But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved.

And if those days had not been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”

“He saved others; He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.

But the rest of them said, “Let us see if Elijah comes to save Him.”

And He *said to them, “Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do harm, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.

And they were even more astonished, and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?”

And you will be hated by everyone because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

And if the Lord had not shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes, were mocking Him among themselves and saying, “He saved others; He cannot save Himself!

The one who has believed and has been baptized will be saved; but the one who has not believed will be condemned.
