  1. He shall not make himself unclean for his father or for his mother, for his brother or for his sister, when they die, because his consecration to God is on his head.

  5. so that you will remember and do all My commandments and be holy to your God.
  6. I am the Lord your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the Lord your God.”
  7. Is it too small an honor for you that the God of Israel has singled you out from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to perform the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;
  8. But they fell on their faces and said, “God, the God of the spirits of humanity, when one person sins, will You be angry with the entire congregation?”
  9. So the people spoke against God and Moses: “Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we are disgusted with this miserable food.”
  10. Then God came to Balaam and said, “Who are these men with you?”
  11. Balaam said to God, “Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, sent word to me:
  12. But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.”
  13. But Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, “Even if Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything, either small or great, contrary to the command of the Lord my God.
  14. And God came to Balaam at night and said to him, “If the men have come to call you, rise and go with them; but you shall do only the thing that I tell you.”
  15. The Angel and Balaam

    But God was angry that he was going, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the road as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
  16. So Balaam said to Balak, “Behold, I have come to you now! Am I really able to speak anything? The word that God puts in my mouth, that only shall I speak.”
  17. Now God met with Balaam, and he said to Him, “I have set up the seven altars, and I have offered up a bull and a ram on each altar.”
  18. How am I to put a curse on him upon whom God has not put a curse? And how am I to curse him whom the Lord has not cursed?
  19. God is not a man, that He would lie, Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
  20. He has not looked at misfortune in Jacob; Nor has He seen trouble in Israel; The Lord his God is with him, And the joyful shout of a king is among them.
  21. God brings them out of Egypt, He is for them like the horns of the wild ox.
  22. For there is no magic curse against Jacob, Nor is there any divination against Israel; At the proper time it shall be said to Jacob And to Israel, what God has done!
  23. Then Balak said to Balaam, “Please come, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will be agreeable with God that you curse them for me from there.”
  24. And Balaam raised his eyes and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
  25. The declaration of him who hears the words of God, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered,
