  1. When you come into the land and plant any fruit tree there, first look upon its fruit as if it were uncircumcised. For three years, it shall be uncircumcised for you; it may not be eaten.
  2. On the first day you shall gather fruit of majestic trees, branches of palms, and boughs of leafy trees and valley willows. Then for a week you shall make merry before the Lord, your God.
  3. I will give you your rains in due season, so that the land will yield its crops, and the trees their fruit;
  4. so that your strength will be spent in vain; your land will bear no crops, and its trees no fruit.
  5. All tithes of the land, whether in grain from the fields or in fruit from the trees, belong to the Lord; they are sacred to the Lord.
