  1. So Yahweh said to him, “Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” And Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one who found him would strike him.
  2. Then Cain went out from the presence of Yahweh and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

  10. Noah and the Flood

    Then Yahweh said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this generation.
  11. And Noah did according to all that Yahweh had commanded him.
  12. And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and Yahweh closed it behind him.
  13. Yahweh’s Covenant with Noah

    Then Noah built an altar to Yahweh and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
  14. And Yahweh smelled the soothing aroma; and Yahweh said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.
  15. And he said, “Blessed be Yahweh, The God of Shem; And let Canaan be his servant.
  16. He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before Yahweh.”
  17. Then Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
  18. And Yahweh said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they have begun to do. So now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them.
  19. So Yahweh scattered them from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city.
  20. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there Yahweh confused the language of the whole earth; and from there Yahweh scattered them over the face of the whole earth.
  21. Yahweh Appears to Abram

    And Yahweh said to Abram, “Go forth from your land, And from your kin And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;
  22. So Abram went forth as Yahweh had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
  23. Then Yahweh appeared to Abram and said, “To your seed I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to Yahweh who had appeared to him.
  24. Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to Yahweh and called upon the name of Yahweh.
  25. But Yahweh struck Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.
