  1. And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword.

  10. And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.
  11. Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
  12. And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.
  13. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

  15. But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
  16. Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
  17. Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:
  18. Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.
  19. For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
  20. Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?
  21. Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
  22. She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's: her labour is in vain without fear;
  23. He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.
  24. Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
  25. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
