  127. Pray for All People

    First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
  128. who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  129. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
  130. The sins of some people are conspicuous, going before them to judgment, but the sins of others appear later.
  131. and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.
  132. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
  133. having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
  134. not devoting themselves to Jewish myths and the commands of people who turn away from the truth.
  135. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
  136. to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.
  137. And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.
  138. Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
  139. A Rest for the People of God

    Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice,
  140. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,
  141. Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people.
  142. And those descendants of Levi who receive the priestly office have a commandment in the law to take tithes from the people, that is, from their brothers, though these also are descended from Abraham.
  143. Jesus Compared to Melchizedek

    Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron?
  144. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself.
  145. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

  154. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.

  156. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.
  157. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
