  1. The midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women, for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife comes to them.”
  2. Again, the Lord said to him, “Put your hand inside your cloak.” And he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous like snow.
  3. Then God said, “Put your hand back inside your cloak.” So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, it was restored like the rest of his flesh.

  5. Moses and Aaron Before Pharaoh

    And the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet.
  6. And he said, “Tomorrow.” Moses said, “Be it as you say, so that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God.
  7. For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself, and on your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth.
  8. The floods covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone.
  9. In the greatness of your majesty you overthrow your adversaries; you send out your fury; it consumes them like stubble.
  10. You blew with your wind; the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters.
  11. “Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?
  12. And when the dew had gone up, there was on the face of the wilderness a fine, flake-like thing, fine as frost on the ground.
  13. Now the house of Israel called its name manna. It was like coriander seed, white, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
  14. Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain trembled greatly.
  15. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
  16. “If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him.
  17. but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the beasts of the field may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard, and with your olive orchard.
  18. and they saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness.
  19. Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.
  20. three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.
  21. And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,
  22. And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set. Likewise you shall make loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.
  23. And likewise for its length on the north side there shall be hangings a hundred cubits long, its pillars twenty and their bases twenty, of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.
  24. And the skillfully woven band on it shall be made like it and be of one piece with it, of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen.
  25. and two chains of pure gold, twisted like cords; and you shall attach the corded chains to the settings.
  26. There shall be twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel. They shall be like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes.
  27. You shall make for the breastpiece twisted chains like cords, of pure gold.
  28. It shall have an opening for the head in the middle of it, with a woven binding around the opening, like the opening in a garment, so that it may not tear.
  29. “You shall make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet, ‘Holy to the Lord.’
  30. It shall not be poured on the body of an ordinary person, and you shall make no other like it in composition. It is holy, and it shall be holy to you.
  31. Whoever compounds any like it or whoever puts any of it on an outsider shall be cut off from his people.’”
  32. Whoever makes any like it to use as perfume shall be cut off from his people.”
  33. Moses Makes New Tablets

    The Lord said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.
  34. So Moses cut two tablets of stone like the first. And he rose early in the morning and went up on Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand two tablets of stone.
  35. He made loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain of the first set. Likewise he made them on the edge of the outermost curtain of the second set.

  39. They made the onyx stones, enclosed in settings of gold filigree, and engraved like the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel.
  40. There were twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel. They were like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes.
  41. And they made on the breastpiece twisted chains like cords, of pure gold.
  42. and the opening of the robe in it was like the opening in a garment, with a binding around the opening, so that it might not tear.
  43. They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription, like the engraving of a signet, “Holy to the Lord.”
