  1. The men of Dedan traded with you. Many coastlands were your own special markets; they brought you in payment ivory tusks and ebony.

  9. Beware of the Scribes

    And in his teaching he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces
  10. They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, “‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.’
  11. Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.
  12. “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts,
  13. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”
  14. When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose other name was Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.
  15. And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had completed their service, bringing with them John, whose other name was Mark.

  18. But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
  19. So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.
  20. Marks of the True Christian

    Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
  21. Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek circumcision.
