The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city.   18. Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house.
  19. Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens.
  20. He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.
  21. The whole land will be a burning waste of salt and sulfur—nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim, which the Lord overthrew in fierce anger.
  22. Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are filled with poison, and their clusters with bitterness.
  23. Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.
  24. Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the instruction of our God, you people of Gomorrah!
  25. The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.
