  13. I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness.
  14. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
  15. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  16. Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
  17. I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.
  18. Life Through the Spirit

    Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
  19. because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
  20. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
  21. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.
  22. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
  23. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
  24. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
  25. For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
