  1. Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”
  2. Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is just!
  3. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
  4. Submission to Governing Authorities

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
  5. Love Fulfills the Law

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
  6. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
  7. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.
  8. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.
  9. Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.
  10. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
  11. And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples extol him.”
  12. I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord.
