  13. Parable of the Ten Servants

    The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away.
  14. Then he added, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
  15. In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that the Kingdom of God is near.
  16. For I tell you now that I won’t eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.”
  17. For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.”
  18. And just as my Father has granted me a Kingdom, I now grant you the right
  19. to eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

  21. but he had not agreed with the decision and actions of the other religious leaders. He was from the town of Arimathea in Judea, and he was waiting for the Kingdom of God to come.
