Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury;

for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.”

“Tell us, when will these things come about, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?”

And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.

Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

What I say to you I say to all: ‘Stay alert!’”

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it.

And Jesus *said to them, “You will all fall away, because it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

But Peter said to Him, “Even if they all fall away, yet I will not!”

But Peter repeatedly said insistently, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing as well.

And He was saying, “Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.”

And His disciples all left Him and fled.

Jesus before His Accusers
They led Jesus away to the high priest; and all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes *gathered together.

You have heard the blasphemy; how does it seem to you?” And they all condemned Him as deserving of death.

But Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify Him!”

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.]] [[And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself also sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.]]
