  1. Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness.
  2. For if by the offense of the one, death reigned through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
  3. So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind.

  8. I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your body’s parts as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.
  9. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in relation to righteousness.
  10. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
  11. What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but the righteousness that is by faith;
  12. however, Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law.
  13. For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
  14. For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
  15. For Moses writes of the righteousness that is based on the Law, that the person who performs them will live by them.
  16. But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will go up into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down),
  17. for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
  18. for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
  19. But it is due to Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
  20. For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness excel in glory.
  21. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
  22. in the word of truth, and in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,
  23. Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness?
  24. as it is written: “He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.”
  25. Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
