If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good. ...

  98. Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love for him.
  99. For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;
  100. in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,
  101. But just as you excel in everything, in faith, speaking, knowledge, and in all earnestness and in the love we inspired in you, see that you also excel in this gracious work.
  102. I am not saying this as a command, but as proving, through the earnestness of others, the sincerity of your love as well.
  103. Therefore, openly before the churches, show them the proof of your love and of our reason for boasting about you.
  104. Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
  105. Why? Because I do not love you? God knows that I do!
  106. I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

  116. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
  117. so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
  118. and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.
  119. with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
  120. but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, that is, Christ,
  121. from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

  130. Be like Christ

    Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
  131. make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
  132. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

  134. and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.
  135. that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and that they would attain to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,

  140. and may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;
  141. Sanctification and Love

    Finally then, brothers and sisters, we request and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel even more.
  142. Now as to the love of the brothers and sisters, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;
  143. But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

  155. But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
  156. For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
  157. Hold on to the example of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
  158. Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
  159. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
  160. treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
  161. Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance,
  162. in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

  164. Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.
  165. so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

  167. All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
  168. Philemon’s Love and Faith

    I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,

  170. For I have had great joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
  171. yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you—since I am such a person as Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—
  172. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your companions.”
  173. For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, by having served and by still serving the saints.

  179. Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: did God not choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
  180. If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.
  181. and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
  182. Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart,

  186. Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
  187. Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ.

  194. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother and sister.
  195. For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another;
  196. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.
  197. We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters.
  198. But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
  199. Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
  200. This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
  201. God Is Love

    Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
  202. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
  203. By this the love of God was revealed in us, that God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live through Him.

  212. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister.
  213. Overcoming the World

  218. Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.
