  189. just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
  190. Is this blessing then only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? For we say that faith was counted to Abraham as righteousness.
  191. and to make him the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.
  192. That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,
  193. but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,
  194. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
  195. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
  196. so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  204. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
  205. And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac,
  206. even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?
  207. so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now receive mercy.
  208. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
  209. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.

  213. (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.)
  214. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
  215. And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.
  216. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
  217. For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,
  218. In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
  219. What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.
  220. the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says.
  221. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
  222. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.
  223. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
  224. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.
  225. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
  226. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.
  227. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
  228. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
  229. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
  230. The Collection for the Saints

Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.
  231. If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.
  232. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.
  233. You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.
  234. and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
  235. Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,
  236. always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.
  237. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
  238. Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,
  239. knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.
  240. The Ministry of Reconciliation

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.
  241. In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.
  242. and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.
  243. For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.
  244. For whatever boasts I made to him about you, I was not put to shame. But just as everything we said to you was true, so also our boasting before Titus has proved true.
  245. But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.
  246. I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine.
  247. And in this matter I give my judgment: this benefits you, who a year ago started not only to do this work but also to desire to do it.
  248. for we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of man.
  249. The Cheerful Giver

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
  250. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.
  251. Look at what is before your eyes. If anyone is confident that he is Christ's, let him remind himself that just as he is Christ's, so also are we.
  252. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
  253. To my shame, I must say, we were too weak for that! But whatever anyone else dares to boast of—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast of that.
  254. For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.
  255. (for he who worked through Peter for his apostolic ministry to the circumcised worked also through me for mine to the Gentiles),
  256. yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
  257. In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world.
  258. Brothers, I entreat you, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong.
  259. But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
  260. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
  261. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
  262. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
  263. far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
  264. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
  265. (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?
  266. He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
  267. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
  268. and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,
  269. Final Greetings

So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything.
  270. For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,
  271. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
  272. Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me.
  273. and I trust in the Lord that shortly I myself will come also.
  274. Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
  275. though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:
  276. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.
  277. Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
  278. which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth,
  279. In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
  280. having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.
  281. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
  282. bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
  283. Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
  284. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—
  285. And when this letter has been read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and see that you also read the letter from Laodicea.
  286. because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.
  287. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
  288. You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.
  289. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.
  290. The Judgment at Christ's Coming

This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering—
  291. likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire,
  292. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless.
  293. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
  294. for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
  295. Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not.
  296. So also good works are conspicuous, and even those that are not cannot remain hidden.
  297. and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
  298. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
  299. The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
  300. if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;
  301. Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable.
  302. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith.
  303. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
  304. When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments.
  305. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
  306. yet for love's sake I prefer to appeal to you—I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus—
  307. but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
  308. while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
  309. who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God's house.
  310. for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
  311. So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”;
  312. as he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”
  313. and to him Abraham apportioned a tenth part of everything. He is first, by translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace.
  314. And those descendants of Levi who receive the priestly office have a commandment in the law to take tithes from the people, that is, from their brothers, though these also are descended from Abraham.
  315. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.
  316. And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
  317. Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
  318. At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”
  319. Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.
  320. So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.
  321. For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
  322. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in,
  323. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
  324. So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
  325. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?
  326. For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.
  327. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
  328. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.
  329. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
  330. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
  331. but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
  332. Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.
  333. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
  334. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
  335. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
  336. False Prophets and Teachers

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
  337. But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction,
  338. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
  339. that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
  340. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
  341. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.
  342. Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
  343. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
  344. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.
  345. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
  346. Greeting

The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all who know the truth,
  347. So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church.
  348. Demetrius has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself. We also add our testimony, and you know that our testimony is true.
  349. Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones.
  350. It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones,
  351. Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
  352. So also you have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
  353. The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
  354. Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation,
  355. Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,
  356. he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
  357. And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.
  358. they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while.
  359. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
  360. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
  361. He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement.
  362. through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
