Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it will be done for you just as you have believed.” And his servant was healed that very moment.

When he came into the house, the blind men approached him. Jesus said to them, “Do you believe I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied.

Then Jesus touched their eyes and said, “It will happen for you just as you have believed.”

Falling into sin

“As for whoever causes these little ones who believe in me to trip and fall into sin, it would be better for them to have a huge stone hung around their necks and be drowned in the bottom of the lake.

Where did John get his authority to baptize? Did he get it from heaven or from humans?” They argued among themselves, “If we say ‘from heaven,’ he’ll say to us, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’

For John came to you on the righteous road, and you didn’t believe him. But tax collectors and prostitutes believed him. Yet even after you saw this, you didn’t change your hearts and lives and you didn’t believe him.

“Then if somebody says to you, ‘Look, here’s the Christ,’ or ‘He’s over here,’ don’t believe it.

I assure you that whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea’—and doesn’t waver but believes that what is said will really happen—it will happen.

Therefore I say to you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you will receive it, and it will be so for you.

They argued among themselves, “If we say, ‘It’s of heavenly origin,’ he’ll say, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’

“Then if someone says to you, ‘Look, here’s the Christ,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it.

Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross. Then we’ll see and believe.” Even those who had been crucified with Jesus insulted him.

But even after they heard the news, they didn’t believe that Jesus was alive and that Mary had seen him.

When they returned, they reported it to the others, but they didn’t believe them.

Finally he appeared to the eleven while they were eating. Jesus criticized their unbelief and stubbornness because they didn’t believe those who saw him after he was raised up.

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever doesn’t believe will be condemned.

These signs will be associated with those who believe: they will throw out demons in my name. They will speak in new languages.

Know this: What I have spoken will come true at the proper time. But because you didn’t believe, you will remain silent, unable to speak until the day when these things happen.”

Happy is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill the promises he made to her.”

The seed on the path are those who hear, but then the devil comes and steals the word from their hearts so that they won’t believe and be saved.

The seed on the rock are those who receive the word joyfully when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while but fall away when they are tempted.
