  1. And it came to pass that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
  2. And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the Child, His name was called Jesus, who was so named by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.

  10. Inasmuch as we have heard that certain ones who went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, ‘Ye must be circumcised and keep the law’ — to whom we gave no such commandment —
  11. Him Paul wanted to have go forth with him, and took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those quarters, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
  12. And they are informed about thee, that thou teachest all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, nor walk according to the customs.
  13. For circumcision verily profiteth if thou keep the law; but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
  14. Therefore if the Uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
  15. And shall not uncircumcision, which is by nature, if it fulfill the law, judge thee, who having the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
  16. For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh.
  17. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and whose circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit and not in the letter, and whose praise is not from men, but from God.
  18. What advantage then hath the Jew? Or what profit is there in circumcision?
  19. seeing it is one God who shall justify the Circumcision by faith, and Uncircumcision through faith.
  20. Cometh this blessedness then upon the Circumcision only, or upon the Uncircumcision also? For we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
  21. How was it then reckoned? When he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision!
  22. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had, yet being uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are not circumcised, that righteousness might be imputed unto them also,
  23. and the father of circumcision to those who are not of the Circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham which he had, being yet uncircumcised.
  24. Now I say, that Jesus Christ was a minister of the Circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers,
  25. Is any man called, being circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called, being uncircumcised? Let him not be circumcised.
