  1. ¶ O king, thou art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

The sentence is according to the decree of the watchmen, and according to the word of the holy ones: the demand was answered, to the intent that living men may know, that the most High hath power over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and appointeth over it the most abject among men.
  6. And the king spake and said, Is not this great Babel that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?
  7. And at the end of these days, I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding was restored unto me, and I gave thanks unto the most High, and I praised and honored him, that liveth forever, whose power is an everlasting power, and his kingdom is from generation to generation.
  8. He rescueth and delivereth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth: who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
  9. And the kingdom, and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven shall be given to the holy people of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all powers shall serve and obey him.
  10. And I saw him come unto the ram, and being moved against him, he smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand against him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him, and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his power.
  11. And his power shall be mighty, but not in his strength: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty, and the holy people.
  12. Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my strength was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no power.
  13. And in the end of years they shall be joined together: for the King’s daughter of the South shall come to the King of the North to make an agreement, but she shall not retain the power of the arm, neither shall he continue, nor his arm: but she shall be delivered to death, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that comforted her, in these times.
  14. Again he shall set his face to enter with the power of his whole kingdom, and his confederates with him: thus shall he do, and he shall give him the daughter of women to destroy her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
  15. Also he shall stir up his power, and his courage against the King of the South with a great army, and the King of the South shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army: but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast and practice against him.
  16. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt, and of the Libyans, and of the black Mores where he shall pass.
  17. And I heard the man clothed in linen which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand, and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth forever, that it shall tarry for a time two times and an half: and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
