Isaiah’s Prophecy against King Sennacherib of Assyria

Then Isaiah, son of Amoz, sent a message to Hezekiah, “This is what Yahweh Elohim of Israel says: You prayed to me about King Sennacherib of Assyria.

Comfort My People

“Comfort my people! Comfort them!” says your Elohim.

A voice cries out in the desert: “Clear a way for Yahweh. Make a straight highway in the wilderness for our Elohim.

Grass dries up, and flowers wither, but the word of our Elohim will last forever.”

Go up a high mountain, Zion. Tell the good news! Call out with a loud voice, Jerusalem. Tell the good news! Raise your voice without fear. Tell the cities of Judah: “Here is your Elohim!”

Jacob, why do you complain? Israel, why do you say, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my rights are ignored by my Elohim”?

Don’t be afraid, because I am with you. Don’t be intimidated; I am your Elohim. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand.

I, Yahweh your Elohim, hold your right hand and say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid; I will help you.’

“The poor and needy are looking for water, but there is none. Their tongues are parched with thirst. I, Yahweh, will answer them. I, the Elohim of Israel, will not abandon them.

The Nations Form Idols, But the Lord Formed Israel

Yahweh is Israel’s Melek and Go’el. He is Yahweh Tsebaoth. This is what Yahweh says: I am the first and the last, and there is no Elohim except me.

Don’t be terrified or afraid. Didn’t I make this known to you long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any Elohim except me? There is no other rock; I know of none.

I will give you treasures from dark places and hidden stockpiles. Then you will know that I, Yahweh Elohim of Israel, have called you by name.

I am Yahweh, and there is no other. There is no other Elohim besides me. I will strengthen you, although you don’t know me,

so that from the east to the west people will know that there is no Elohim except me. I am Yahweh, and there is no other.

This is what Yahweh says: The products from Egypt, the merchandise from Sudan, and the important Sabaeans will come to you. They will belong to you. They will follow you. They will come to you in chains. They will bow to you and pray to you, “Certainly El is with you alone, and there is no other Elohim.”

Certainly, you are an El who has hidden himself. You are the Elohim of Israel, the Savior!

Yahweh created the heavens. Elohim formed the earth and made it. He set it up. He did not create it to be empty but formed it to be inhabited. This is what Yahweh says: I am Yahweh, and there is no other.

Speak and present your case. Yes, let them consult one another. Who revealed this in the distant past and predicted it long ago? Wasn’t it I, Yahweh? There is no other Elohim except me. There is no other righteous God and Savior besides me.

Remember the first events, because I am El, and there is no other. I am Elohim, and there’s no one like me.

The Lord Will Refine His People Before He Rescues Them from Babylon

Listen to this, descendants of Jacob! You are given the name of Israel. You are descended from Judah. You take oaths by the name of Yahweh. You acknowledge the Elohim of Israel, but you are not honest or sincere.

You call yourselves citizens of the holy city. You depend on the Elohim of Israel. His name is Yahweh Tsebaoth.
