  1. Oh, sinful nation, People weighed down with guilt, Offspring of evildoers, Sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord, They have despised the Holy One of Israel, They have turned away from Him.
  2. Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it.

  7. Yet it does not so intend, Nor does it plan so in its heart, But rather it is its purpose to destroy And to eliminate many nations.
  8. Then on that day The nations will resort to the root of Jesse, Who will stand as a signal flag for the peoples; And His resting place will be glorious.
  9. And He will lift up a flag for the nations And assemble the banished ones of Israel, And will gather the dispersed of Judah From the four corners of the earth.
  10. A sound of a roar on the mountains, Like that of many people! A sound of an uproar of kingdoms, Of nations gathered together! The Lord of armies is mustering the army for battle.
  11. Which used to strike the peoples in fury with unceasing strokes, Which subdued the nations in anger with unrestrained persecution.
  12. Sheol below is excited about you, to meet you when you come; It stirs the spirits of the dead for you, all the leaders of the earth; It raises all the kings of the nations from their thrones.
  13. How you have fallen from heaven, You star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who defeated the nations!
  14. All the kings of the nations lie in glory, Each in his own tomb.
  15. This is the plan devised against the entire earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out against all the nations.
  16. What answer will one give the messengers of the nation? That the Lord has founded Zion, And the poor of His people will take refuge in it.”

  20. Which sends messengers by the sea, Even in papyrus vessels on the surface of the waters. Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, To a people feared far and wide, A powerful and oppressive nation Whose land the rivers divide.
  21. At that time a gift of tribute will be brought to the Lord of armies From a people tall and smooth, From a people feared far and wide, A powerful and oppressive nation, Whose land the rivers divide— To the place of the name of the Lord of armies, to Mount Zion.
  22. And were on many waters. The grain of the Nile, the harvest of the River was her revenue; And she was the market of nations.
  23. Therefore a strong people will glorify You; Cities of ruthless nations will revere You.
  24. And on this mountain He will destroy the covering which is over all peoples, The veil which is stretched over all nations.
  25. Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful.
