And the Pharisees came, and asked him, Whether it be leaveful to a man to leave his wife? and they tempted him.[a]

And he answered, and said to them, What commanded Moses to you?

And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of forsaking [Moses suffered to write a libel of forsaking], and to forsake.

And Jesus answered, and said to them, For the hardness of your heart Moses wrote to you this commandment[b].

But from the beginning of creature God made them male and female;

and said, For this thing a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall draw to his wife [and shall cleave to his wife],

and they shall be twain in one flesh. And so now they be not twain, but one flesh. [and they shall be two in one flesh. And so now they be not two, but one flesh.]

Therefore that thing that God hath joined together, no man separate [no man part].

10 And again in the house his disciples asked him of the same thing.

11 And he said to them to them, Whoever leaveth his wife, and weddeth another, he doeth adultery on her. [And he saith to them, Whoever shall leave his wife, and wed another, he doeth adultery upon her.]

12 And if the wife [shall] leave her husband, and be wedded to another, she doeth lechery [she doeth adultery].

  2. Mark 10:5 To the hardness of your heart Moses wrote to you this precept/To the hardness of your heart he wrote to you this commandment

And the Pharisees came and asked him a question, whether it was lawful for a man to put away his wife, in order to prove him. And he answered and said to them, What did Moses tell you to do? And they said, Moses permitted us to write a testimonial of divorce and to put her away.

And Jesus answered and said to them, For the hardness of your hearts he wrote this precept for you. But at the first creation, God made them man and woman. And for the sake of this, a man must leave his father and mother and abide by his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. So then they are now not two, but are one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

10 And in the house, his disciples asked him again about that matter. 11 And he said to them, Whoever puts away his wife and marries another, breaks wedlock to her. 12 And if a woman forsakes her husband and is married to another, she commits adultery.
