Luke 21:1-4 Wycliffe Bible (WYC)

21 And he beheld, and saw the rich men, that cast their gifts into the treasury;

but he saw also a little poor widow casting two farthings.[a]

And he said, Truly I say to you, that this poor widow cast more than all men.

For why all these of [the] thing that was plenteous to them [For why all these of the abundance, or plenteous, to them] cast into the gifts of God; but this widow of that thing that failed to her, cast all her livelode [sent all her lifelode], that she had.

Footnotes:

  1. Luke 21:2 forsooth he saw also some little poor widow sending two little moneys/two little minutes, or farthings.

Luke 21:1-4 New Matthew Bible (NMB)

Christ commends the poor widow. He tells of the destruction of Jerusalem, of false teachers, of the signs and troubles to come, of the end of the world, and of his own coming.

21 As he looked on, he saw the rich, how they cast their offerings into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow who cast in two small coins, and he said, Of a truth I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all have added to the offering to God out of their surplus, but she, of her penury, has cast in all the substance that she had.
