29 “‘And if a man sells a residential house in a walled city,[a] then[b] it shall be his redemption until completing a year after his selling;[c] its redemption shall last[d] a year.[e] 30 But[f] if it is not redeemed before a full year has passed,[g] then[h] the house that is in the walled city[i] shall belong to the buyer in[j] perpetuity throughout his generations; it shall not go out of the buyer’s hand[k] in the Jubilee. 31 However,[l] village houses that have no surrounding wall shall be considered open country;[m] there is redemption for it, and in the Jubilee it shall go out of the buyer’s hand.[n]

32 “‘As for[o] the cities of the Levites, that is, the houses in[p] their property’s cities, it shall be a lasting redemption[q] for the Levites. 33 And whatever anyone redeems from the Levites then[r] must go out of the buyer’s hand[s] in the Jubilee, including a house’s selling in his city’s property,[t] because the houses in[u] the cities of the Levites are their property in the midst of the Israelites.[v] 34 But[w] a[x] field of their cities’ pastureland must not be sold, because it is their property for all time.[y]

29 “‘Anyone who sells a house in a walled city retains the right of redemption a full year after its sale. During that time the seller may redeem it. 30 If it is not redeemed before a full year has passed, the house in the walled city shall belong permanently to the buyer and the buyer’s descendants. It is not to be returned in the Jubilee. 31 But houses in villages without walls around them are to be considered as belonging to the open country. They can be redeemed, and they are to be returned in the Jubilee.

32 “‘The Levites always have the right to redeem their houses in the Levitical towns,(A) which they possess. 33 So the property of the Levites is redeemable—that is, a house sold in any town they hold—and is to be returned in the Jubilee, because the houses in the towns of the Levites are their property among the Israelites. 34 But the pastureland belonging to their towns must not be sold; it is their permanent possession.(B)
