⁶ You, Lord, have abandoned^(A) your people,
    the descendants of Jacob.^(B)
They are full of superstitions from the East;
    they practice divination^(C) like the Philistines^(D)
    and embrace^(E) pagan customs.^(F)
7 Their land is full of silver and gold;^(G)
    there is no end to their treasures.^(H)
Their land is full of horses;^(I)
    there is no end to their chariots.^(J)
8 Their land is full of idols;^(K)
    they bow down^(L) to the work of their hands,^(M)
    to what their fingers^(N) have made.
⁹ So people will be brought low^(O)
    and everyone humbled^(P)—
