Galatians 6:11-18 Wycliffe Bible (WYC)

11 See ye, what manner letters I have written to you with mine own hand.

12 For whoever will please in the flesh, these constrain you to be circumcised, only that they suffer not the persecution of Christ's cross.

13 For neither they that be circumcised keep the law; but they will that ye be circumcised, that they have glory in your flesh [but they will you to be circumcised, that they glory in your flesh].

14 But far be it from me to have glory [Forsooth be it far to me to glory], but in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

15 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision is any thing worth, nor prepuce, but a new creature.

16 And whoever follow this rule, peace on them, and mercy, and on Israel of God [peace upon them, and mercy, and upon Israel of God].

17 And hereafter no man be heavy to me; for I bear in my body the tokens of our Lord Jesus Christ. [From henceforth, no man be heavy to me; forsooth I bear in my body the tokens, or wounds, of our Lord Jesus Christ.]

18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.

Galatians 6:11-18 New Matthew Bible (NMB)

11 See how large a letter I have written to you with my own hand.

12 Those who desire to please carnally by outward appearances constrain you to be circumcised only because they do not want to suffer persecution with the cross of Christ. 13 For they themselves who are circumcised do not keep the law, but desire to have you circumcised so that they may glory in your flesh.

14 God forbid that I should glory but in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, whereby the world is crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither does circumcision avail anything at all, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel that belongs to God.

17 From henceforth let no one put me to trouble. For I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. 18 Brethren, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Galatians 6:11-18 1599 Geneva Bible (GNV)

11 [a]Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

12 As many as desire to make a [b]fair show in the [c]flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised, only because they would not suffer persecution for the [d]cross of Christ.

13 For they themselves which are circumcised keep not the Law, but desire to have you circumcised, that they might rejoice in [e]your flesh.

14 [f]But God forbid that I should [g]rejoice, but in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, whereby the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace shall be upon them, and mercy, and upon the [h]Israel of God.

17 [i]From henceforth let no man put me to business: for I bear, in my body the [j]marks of the [k]Lord Jesus.

18 [l]Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your [m]spirit, Amen.

Galatians 6:11 The fourth and last part of the Epistle, wherein he returneth to his principal end and purpose: to wit, that the Galatians should not suffer themselves to be led out of the way by the false apostles: and he pointeth out those false apostles in their colors, reproving them of ambition, as men that do not that which they do, for any affection and zeal they have to the Law, but only for this purpose, that they may purchase themselves favor amongst their own sort, by the circumcision of the Galatians.

Galatians 6:14 He sticketh not to compare himself with them, showing that on the contrary part he rejoiceth in those afflictions which he suffereth for Christ’s sake, and as he is despised of the world, so doth he in like sort esteem the world as naught: which is the true circumcision of a true Israelite.
