15 And he measured the length of the building facing the courtyard[a] at the rear[b] and its galleries, a hundred cubits[c] on each side,[d] and also the temple, the court, and the porticos of the courtyard, 16 the thresholds and the framed windows and the galleries around the three of them. Before the threshold was a covering of wood all around,[e] and from the ground up to the windows, and all around the windows, they were covered. 17 Above[f] the doorway and up to the inner temple[g] and on the outside, and on all of the wall all the way around[h] in the inner and in the outer areas were patterns,[i] 18 and it was made of cherubim and palm tree images; a palm tree image between cherub and cherub, and the cherub had two faces.[j] 19 And the face of a human was toward[k] the palm tree image on the one side,[l] and the face of a fierce strong lion faced[m] the palm tree image on the other side;[n] this work was executed[o] for the entire temple all the way around.[p] 20 From the ground up to above[q] the doorway,[r] the cherubim and the palm tree images were made,[s] and also the outer wall of the temple.

21 As far as the temple is concerned its doorframe was squared, and before[t] the sanctuary was the appearance as it were the appearance of 22 a wooden altar[u] that was three cubits[v] high, and its length was two cubits,[w] and its corners[x] for it and its length and its walls were of wood. And he spoke to me, “This is the table that is before[y] Yahweh.” 23 And the two doors were for the temple and for the sanctuary. 24 And two leaves[z] of a door were for each of the doors, two hinged leaves of a door: two were for the first door, and two leaves of a door were for the other door. 25 And cherubim were made[aa] on them, that is, on the doors of the temple and palm tree images like the ones prepared for the walls;[ab] and an overhang of wood was on the surface of the porticos on the outside. 26 And narrow windows and palm tree images were on either side,[ac] and on the side walls of the portico, and the side rooms of the temple and their[ad] overhang.

15 Next he measured the length of the building facing the temple yard to the west, with its galleries[a] on each side;(A) it was 175 feet.

Interior Wooden Structures

The interior of the great hall and the porticoes of the court— 16 the thresholds, the beveled windows,(B) and the balconies all around with their three levels opposite the threshold—were overlaid with wood on all sides.(C) They were paneled from the ground to the windows (but the windows were covered), 17 reaching to the top of the entrance, and as far as the inner temple and on the outside. On every wall all around, on the inside and outside, was a pattern 18 carved with cherubim and palm trees.(D) There was a palm tree between each pair of cherubim.(E) Each cherub had two faces: 19 a human face turned toward the palm tree on one side,(F) and a lion’s face turned toward it on the other. They were carved throughout the temple on all sides. 20 Cherubim and palm trees were carved from the ground to the top of the entrance and on the wall of the great hall.

21 The doorposts of the great hall were square,(G) and the front of the sanctuary had the same appearance. 22 The altar was[b] made of wood, 5¼ feet[c] high and 3½ feet[d] long.[e] It had corners, and its length[f] and sides were of wood.(H) The man told me, “This is the table that stands before the Lord.”(I)

23 The great hall and the sanctuary each had a double door,(J) 24 and each of the doors had two swinging panels.(K) There were two panels for one door and two for the other. 25 Cherubim and palm trees were carved on the doors of the great hall like those carved on the walls. There was a wooden canopy[g](L) outside, in front of the portico. 26 There were beveled windows and palm trees on both sides,(M) on the side walls of the portico, the side rooms of the temple, and the canopies.[h]
