Romans 8:5-8

⁵For ^(A)those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, ^(B)the things of the Spirit. ⁶For ^(C)to be ^[a]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ⁷Because ^(D)the ^[b]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, ^(E)nor indeed can be. ⁸So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

⁵For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit;

⁶for the mind of the flesh [is] death, and the mind of the Spirit -- life and peace;

⁷because the mind of the flesh [is] enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,

⁸for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
