Psalm 139:5-11
English Standard Version
5 You (A)hem me in, behind and before,
and (B)lay your hand upon me.
6 (C)Such knowledge is (D)too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.
7 (E)Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where (F)shall I flee from your presence?
8 (G)If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
(H)If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall (I)lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, (J)“Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
Psalm 139:5-11
New International Version
5 You hem me in(A) behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,(B)
too lofty(C) for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee(D) from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens,(E) you are there;
if I make my bed(F) in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,(G)
your right hand(H) will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
