12 I am (A)forgotten like a dead person, out of mind;
I am like a broken vessel.
13 For I have heard the [a](B)slander of many,
(C)Terror is on every side;
While they (D)took counsel together against me,
They (E)schemed to take away my life.

14 But as for me, I trust in You, Lord,
I say, “(F)You are my God.”
15 My (G)times are in Your hand;
(H)Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your (I)face shine upon Your servant;
(J)Save me in Your faithfulness.
17 Let me not be (K)put to shame, Lord, for I call upon You;
Let the (L)wicked be put to shame, let them (M)be silent in [b]Sheol.

Let me not be put to shame, O Lord, for I call on You;
Let the wicked (godless) be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead).
