For day and night Your (A)hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah
I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
(B)I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

(C)For this cause everyone who is godly shall (D)pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters
They shall not come near him.
(E)You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with (F)songs of deliverance. Selah

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
Do not be like the (G)horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.

10 (H)Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But (I)he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.
11 (J)Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

When by day and by night Thy hand is heavy upon me, My moisture hath been changed Into the droughts of summer. Selah.

My sin I cause Thee to know, And mine iniquity I have not covered. I have said, `I confess concerning My transgressions to Jehovah,' And Thou -- Thou hast taken away, The iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For this doth every saintly one pray to Thee, As the time to find. Surely at an overflowing of many waters, Unto him they come not.

Thou [art] a hiding-place for me, From distress Thou dost keep me, [With] songs of deliverance dost compass me. Selah.

I cause thee to act wisely, And direct thee in the way that thou goest, I cause mine eye to take counsel concerning thee.

Be ye not as a horse -- as a mule, Without understanding, With bridle and bit, its ornaments, to curb, Not to come near unto thee.

10 Many [are] the pains of the wicked; As to him who is trusting in Jehovah, Kindness doth compass him.

11 Be glad in Jehovah, and rejoice, ye righteous, And sing, all ye upright of heart!

For day and night (A)Your hand was heavy upon me;
My [a](B)vitality failed as with the dry heat of summer. Selah
I (C)acknowledged my sin to You,
And I (D)did not hide my guilt;
I said, “(E)I will confess my wrongdoings to the Lord”;
And You (F)forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You [b](G)in a time when You may be found;
Certainly (H)in a flood of great waters, they will not reach him.
You are (I)my hiding place; You (J)keep me from trouble;
You surround me with [c](K)songs of deliverance. Selah

I will (L)instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will advise you (M)with My eye upon you.
Do not be (N)like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding,
Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check,
Otherwise they will not come near to you.
10 The (O)sorrows of the wicked are many,
But (P)the one who trusts in the Lord, goodness will surround him.
11 Be (Q)glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are (R)upright in heart.
