12 For (A)the word of God is living and (B)active, (C)sharper than any (D)two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and (E)discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And (F)no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are (G)naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Jesus the Great High Priest

14 Since then we have (H)a great high priest (I)who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, (J)let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest (K)who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been (L)tempted as we are, (M)yet without sin. 16 (N)Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Footnotes

  1. Hebrews 4:14 Greek has gone through the heavens

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
