⁵ No longer shall ^(A)your name be called ^[a]Abram, but your name shall be ^[b]Abraham; ^(B)for I have made you a father of ^[c]many nations.

¹⁵ Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but ^[a]Sarah shall be her name.

²⁸ And He said, ^(A)“Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but ^[a]Israel; for you have ^(B)struggled with God and ^(C)with men, and have prevailed.”

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: ^(A)Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear ^(B)a Son, and shall call His name ^(C)Immanuel.^[a]

^21 (A)And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name ^[a]Jesus, ^(B)for He will save His people from their sins.”

¹⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, ^(A)for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but ^(B)My Father who is in heaven. ¹⁸ And I also say to you that ^(C)you are Peter, and ^(D)on this rock I will build My church, and ^(E)the gates of Hades shall not ^[a]prevail against it.

¹³ But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and ^(A)you shall call his name John.
