27 As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.(A) 28 There is no longer Jew or Greek; there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.(B) 29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring,[a] heirs according to the promise.(C)

My point is this: heirs, as long as they are minors, are no better than those who are enslaved, though they are the owners of all the property, but they remain under guardians and trustees until the date set by the father. So with us; while we were minors, we were enslaved to the elemental principles[b] of the world.(D) But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,(E) in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children.(F) And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our[c] hearts, crying, “Abba![d] Father!”(G) So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir through God.[e]

27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ(A) have clothed yourselves with Christ.(B) 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free,(C) nor is there male and female,(D) for you are all one in Christ Jesus.(E) 29 If you belong to Christ,(F) then you are Abraham’s seed,(G) and heirs(H) according to the promise.(I)

What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery(J) under the elemental spiritual forces[a] of the world.(K) But when the set time had fully come,(L) God sent his Son,(M) born of a woman,(N) born under the law,(O) to redeem(P) those under the law, that we might receive adoption(Q) to sonship.[b](R) Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son(S) into our hearts,(T) the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[c] Father.”(U) So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.(V)
