²⁴ and to put on^(A) the new self,^(B) created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.^(C)

²⁵ Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully^(D) to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.^{(E) 26} “In your anger do not sin”^[a]:^(F) Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, ²⁷ and do not give the devil a foothold.^(G)

Dealing With Sin in the Church

¹⁵ “If your brother or sister^[a] sins,^[b] go and point out their fault,^(A) just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. ¹⁶ But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’^{[c](B) 17} If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church;^(C) and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.^(D)

¹⁷ “‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart.^(A) Rebuke your neighbor frankly^(B) so you will not share in their guilt.

¹⁸ “‘Do not seek revenge^(C) or bear a grudge^(D) against anyone among your people,^(E) but love your neighbor^(F) as yourself.^(G) I am the Lord.
