Zechariah 8:15-9:4

¹⁵so again have I purposed in these days to bring good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; ^(A)fear not. ¹⁶These are the things that you shall do: ^(B)Speak the truth to one another; ^(C)render in your gates judgments ^(D)that are true and make for peace; ¹⁷^(E)do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and ^(F)love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the Lord.”

¹⁸And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying, ¹⁹“Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the ^(G)fourth month and the fast of the ^(H)fifth and the fast of the ^(I)seventh and the fast of the ^(J)tenth shall be to the house of Judah ^(K)seasons of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts. Therefore love ^(L)truth and peace.

²⁰“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities. ²¹The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, ^(M)‘Let us go at once ^(N)to entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek the Lord of hosts; I myself am going.’ ²²^(O)Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and ^(P)to entreat the favor of the Lord. ²³Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ^(Q)ten men ^(R)from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for ^(S)we have heard that God is with you.’”

Judgment on Israel's Enemies

9 The oracle of the word of the Lord is against the land of Hadrach
    and ^(T)Damascus is its resting place.
For the Lord has an eye on mankind
    and on all the tribes of Israel,^[a]
²^(U)and on Hamath also, which borders on it,
    ^(V)Tyre and ^(W)Sidon, though ^(X)they are very wise.
³Tyre has built herself ^(Y)a rampart
    and ^(Z)heaped up silver like dust,
    and fine gold like the mud of the streets.
⁴But behold, the Lord will strip her of her possessions
    and strike down ^(AA)her power on the sea,
    and ^(AB)she shall be devoured by fire.
