Clean Garments for the High Priest

3 Then he showed me Joshua^(A) the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan^[a](B) standing at his right side to accuse him.

¹² His eyes are like blazing fire,^(A) and on his head are many crowns.^(B) He has a name written on him^(C) that no one knows but he himself.^(D)

⁵ Then I said, “Put a clean turban^(A) on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.

A Call to Build the House of the Lord

1 In the second year of King Darius,^(A) on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai^(B) to Zerubbabel^(C) son of Shealtiel, governor^(D) of Judah, and to Joshua^(E) son of Jozadak,^[a](F) the high priest:^(G)

⁹ Then he placed the turban^(A) on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the sacred emblem,^(B) on the front of it, as the Lord commanded Moses.^(C)

³⁰ They made the plate, the sacred emblem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: holy to the Lord.^(A)

⁹ But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor^(A) because he suffered death,^(B) so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.^(C)
