10 Aking(A) aalisin ang karwahe mula sa Efraim,
    at ang kabayo mula sa Jerusalem;
at ang mga busog na pandigma ay mapuputol;
    at siya'y magsasalita ng kapayapaan sa mga bansa;
ang kanyang nasasakupan ay magiging mula sa kabilang dagat hanggang sa dagat,
    at mula sa ilog hanggang sa mga dulo ng lupa.

11 Tungkol(B) naman sa iyo, dahil sa dugo ng aking tipan sa iyo
    ay aking palalayain ang iyong mga bilanggo mula sa hukay na walang tubig.
12 Bumalik kayo sa inyong muog, kayong mga bilanggo na may pag-asa,
    ngayo'y ipinahahayag ko na aking ibabalik sa inyo nang makalawa.

    and the warhorses from Jerusalem,
    and the battle bow will be broken.(A)
He will proclaim peace(B) to the nations.
    His rule will extend from sea to sea

11 As for you, because of the blood of my covenant(D) with you,
    I will free your prisoners(E) from the waterless pit.(F)
12 Return to your fortress,(G) you prisoners of hope;
    even now I announce that I will restore twice(H) as much to you.

Zechariah 9:10 tc The MT first person pronoun (“I”), which seems to shift the subject too abruptly, becomes third person masculine singular (“he”) in the LXX (הִכְרִית, hikhrit, presupposed for הִכְרַתִּי, hikhratti). However, the Lord is the subject of v. 8, which speaks of his protection of Jerusalem, so it is not surprising that he is the subject in v. 10 as well.tn Heb “cut off” (so NASB, NRSV; also later in this verse); NAB “banish”; NIV, CEV “take away.”
  2. Zechariah 9:10 tn Heb “the river.” The Hebrew expression typically refers to the Euphrates, so the referent has been specified in the translation for clarity.
