Wisdom of Ben Sira 4:6-8

⁶ For if in bitterness of soul someone should curse you,
    the one who made him will hear his prayer.
⁷ Endear yourself to the community,
    and bow your head in the presence of authority.
⁸ Pay attention to the entreaties of a poor man,
    and return his greeting courteously.
