Wisdom of Ben Sira 1:29-30

²⁹ Do not act out a role before others;
    keep careful watch over your lips.
³⁰ Do not exalt yourself, lest you fall
    and bring dishonor upon yourself.
For then the Lord will reveal your secrets
    and overthrow you before the whole community,
since you did not practice the fear of the Lord
    and your heart was full of deceit.
